Laughlin Business Advisors The Owners Roundtable

The Owners Roundtable · free · live on Zoom

The price you keep putting off. One fix that puts profit back in your business this month.

A free, live hour for business owners in Northern Virginia. Craig Laughlin Jr teaches one fix, pricing, in three steps. Then you work it in a small group with three or four other owners, so you leave with a decision instead of a note.

The hour, in four parts

One fix. Taught, then worked.

Most of the hour is teaching you can use the same day. The last part shows where owners take it next. You'll know it's coming.

  1. 8:00

Why more customers is the most expensive fix

Every new customer costs money to find and money to serve. Profit is already inside your business, and price is the fastest place to find it.

  2. 8:20

    The three-step price move

    1. Find the one product or service you haven't repriced in a year or more.
    2. Set a small increase and the date it starts, and decide what you'll say if a customer asks.
    3. Tell your team, then watch who actually leaves. It is usually fewer people than you feared.
  3. 8:30

Breakout rooms of three or four owners

One question: which one price will you change, by how much, and by what date? You say yours out loud.

  4. 8:45

    Where owners take it next

Craig shows how owners keep doing this every month in The Owners Council · Northern Virginia, and answers questions until 9:00 sharp.

One price sheet, untouched for years. The hour is about the one line on it you change this month.

You won't just watch

Three owners hear you say it. That's what changes it.

Most owners already know a price needs to go up. Plenty have known it for a year. What's missing is someone who heard them say it.

Halfway through the hour, we split into breakout rooms of three or four owners. Each owner answers one question out loud. Cameras on helps.

The breakout question

Which one price will you change, by how much, and by what date?

Nobody shares real figures on screen. Every example in the training uses a sample business.

Who it's for

Owners only. In Northern Virginia.

The room works because everyone in it makes the call on their own prices. That is the same rule The Owners Council keeps.

Owners and co-owners

You have the final call on the business's money. Independent agents who run their own book and pay their own expenses count too.

Not managers or employees

If someone else signs off on your prices, this hour won't fit. Salaried reps and staff are welcome to send their owner.

A preview, never a seat

The Roundtable shows you what working at a table of owners feels like. It is not a seat at the Council, and chapter meetings stay private.

Your host

I knew what to do. Nobody was checking.

For years I knew exactly what my business needed, and I didn't do it. I worked longer instead. I was home. I was present. But I wasn't present.

The change didn't come from another book or course. It came when I had a room that expected me to act.

I've owned businesses for 16 years, and for five and a half years I coached more than 250 owners a year as a Director of Coaching. The Roundtable is one hour of how I work now: one fix, taught plainly, then put in front of other owners.

Before you register

Owners ask five things.

Is it a sales pitch?

It's a training with one offer at the end, and we're telling you now. The last 10 minutes cover The Owners Council · Northern Virginia and the founding price for its first 10 members. Everything before that is a fix you can use either way.

Do I have to share my numbers?

No. Every example uses a sample business. In the breakout, you say which price you'll change and by when. You never put figures on screen.

What if I can't make it live?

Register for either Tuesday anyway. Everyone who registered gets the replay by email, and it stays up for 48 hours.

Which Tuesday should I pick?

Either one. October 13 and October 20 run the same session, so pick the morning that fits your week.

Do I need my camera on?

It helps in the breakout rooms, where three or four owners talk together. It isn't required.
