The hardest decisions in the business

One wrong call can cost more than a year in The Boardroom.

The decisions that move the most money often get made late at night, on instinct, with nobody to talk them through. The figures below are samples, not a promise. On the call, Craig walks through the decisions in front of you.

A price set 5% too low on $2 million in sales$100,000a year
A second location losing $15,000 a month for a year$180,000in one year
Selling the business one year of profit too cheap, on $500,000 a year$500,000at the closing table
A full year in The Boardroom, every hour with Craig$74,970a year, two months free, or $7,497 a month

What a seat holds

Craig’s time, and the system behind it.

Every other program we run is built mainly around a group. The Boardroom is you and Craig, 1:1, on your business, every week.

  1. 01
A 60-minute call with Craig, every weekSame day, same time, 1:1. Your week reviewed, last week’s commitments checked, this week’s decision worked through.
  2. 02
Craig between callsEmail, Loom, Voxer or text when a decision cannot wait for the weekly call.
  3. 03
Coaching, consulting and a seat on your leadership teamCraig coaches you, consults on every area of profit and digital marketing, and works alongside your leadership team as one of them.
  4. 04
A planning day every quarterA day out of the day-to-day. You look back at what worked and choose the three things that matter most in the next 90 days.
  5. 05
A written plan for the yearBuilt at the first planning day of the year and checked at the other three. The three results the year is for, and the order you go after them.
  6. 06
Your business scored firstBefore your first weekly hour, your business is scored on the 12 places profit leaks and, if you plan to sell, the 11 things buyers check. The coaching follows the data.
  7. 07
Delivery run by JessicaScheduling, reminders and follow-up handled by Jessica Laughlin, PMP®, so every hour with Craig goes on the business.

Why the roster stops at five

  1. Read up first. Before your hour, Craig reads up on your last week, so the hour starts on the decision.
  2. Make the call.During the hour, you and Craig work the decision in front of you. Craig advises. You decide.
  3. Write it down. After the hour, Craig writes down what you committed to, and by when.
  4. Check it next week. The next hour opens with that list, so nothing you said you would do gets lost.

That work takes Craig’s time before and after every hour. Past five businesses, he could not do it for each one. So the roster stops at five.

Who you work with

A standing hour on Craig’s calendar.

Every client gets a standing hour on Craig’s calendar: the same day, the same time, every week, good week or bad. It does not move for a sales call, and he never hands it to anyone else.

He blocks time before your hour to prepare for your business and time after it to write down what you committed to. That is why he works with no more than five businesses at a time.

How a seat opens

Three steps, each one with Craig.

  1. Step 1 · Apply10 minutes

    Tell Craig about the business

Nine questions about the business, where it stands and what this year has to deliver. Craig reads every answer.

  2. Step 2 · Talk45 minutes

    Find out whether it fits

A conversation with Craig. If The Boardroom is not the right fit, he tells you which of our programs fits instead, and why.

  3. Step 3 · PlanA planning day

    Plan the year with Craig

Your business scored and your weekly hour booked. Then the three numbers you most want to improve this year go in writing.

Before your first planning day, we write your agreement together and both of us sign it. Billing starts once it is signed. Nothing is charged when you apply or on the call.

The Boardroom guarantee

Three numbers, written down, or more of Craig.

At the first planning day we write down the three numbers this year is for. Show up, do the work we prescribe, take the action. If none of the three has improved on your own numbers after two quarters, you get an extra planning day with Craig at no extra cost, and your weekly hour becomes two a week for up to 12 weeks.

No refunds, no discounts, no pauses. Every seat has its own written agreement. We set the terms together in our conversation, and both of us sign it.

Before you apply

Questions owners ask.

Who is a seat for?

An established owner whose next decisions are worth far more than the fee, and who will show real figures every week, including the bad ones. Craig advises. You decide and you act.

Why is the price published?

We publish it so you know before you apply. What we decide together is whether Craig has room on his roster and whether it is a fit. The application and the conversation answer both.

Which path is The Boardroom on?

All of them. It sits above Launch, Profit, Exit and Coach Acceleration. The weekly hour follows whatever your business needs that quarter: growing the profit, getting ready to sell one day, or both.

What happens when the roster is full?

You can still apply. Craig will tell you honestly how long a place on his roster is likely to take.

Can I pause for a busy season?

No pauses. An hour held empty is an hour another business cannot use. How and when your seat ends is written into your agreement before you start.

How is it billed?

By Laughlin Business Advisors directly, monthly or yearly, once your agreement is signed. Nothing is charged when you apply or on the call.

The roster is capped at five clients
