The Profit Room · seven days free

The room where owners find the money already inside their business.

A weekly working session on real numbers. Answers inside one business day. Other owners doing the same work, in every kind of business. Seven days free, then $97 a month or $697 for the year.

What is actually going wrong

You are making money. You are not keeping it.

Revenue is up. Everybody is busy. The bank balance still surprises you at the end of the month.

So you do what everyone does. More leads, more hours, more spend. It is the most expensive way to fix a money problem, and usually the wrong one, because the leak was never the number of customers.

There are twelve places money leaves a business. You are almost certainly losing it in several of them, and almost certainly wrong about which ones. That is not a character flaw. Nobody ever sat down with you and measured it.

Working it out alone is how most owners stay stuck. You read the book, you mean to get to it, and Tuesday happens. A room changes that, because it meets every week and somebody asks what you did.

Revenue feeds your potential. Profit feeds your family.

What you get

One subscription. Everything in the room.

One subscription covers everything in the room, and nothing is held back for a higher level. Most coaching happens in the days between calls, which is exactly where traditional coaching leaves you alone.

A weekly working sessionOne hour, live, every week. The room works one fix together, on real numbers, and everybody builds their own version before the hour ends. Collaborative, not hot seats, so the quiet owners get as much from it as the loud ones. Recorded, with the replay posted in the room.
  • 02
Answers inside one business dayPost a question from the truck at lunch or the couch at eleven at night. Craig answers in the room inside one business day, and the answer teaches everyone who reads it.
  • 03
Owners doing the same workThe part nobody can teach you is the part another owner already solved. Trades, clinics, agencies, shops and firms, all working the same twelve areas.
  • 04
The Profit Audit, at your own paceTwelve areas, one lesson each, in plain words: what to look for, where it usually hides, and how to pick a number you will actually hit.
  • 05
Somebody noticesSay what you will do by next week in front of people who will ask. That is most of why it gets done.

Why it is worth the $97

Four questions every owner asks before joining anything.

What do I get, will it work for me, how long until I see it, and how much of my week does it eat? Straight answers.

What you getProfit that matches the workMore of what you already sell stays in the business, month after month, instead of leaking out where nobody looks.
Will it workArithmetic, not a theoryThe twelve areas have been in print for decades. What was missing is working them in order, on your numbers, with people who notice.
How longThis month, not next yearA cost you stop paying shows up the same month. The first working session gives you a fix you can start that week.
How much of your weekOne hour, plus your questionsOne session a week, and a replay if you miss it. Everything else runs on your clock, from wherever you are.

How the room works

A business is what you can show, not what you can say.

Every owner has had a great year that left nothing in the bank. This room runs on the opposite habit.

Pretending

  • Revenue quoted from memory, margin not at all
  • A great year that left nothing in the account
  • More leads as the answer to every money problem
  • A plan that lives in your head, where nobody can check it
  • The fix you picked because it felt urgent

Proving

  • Three numbers off your profit and loss, rough but honest
  • Profit you can point to when the month closes
  • The money you already make, worked first
  • What you will do by next week, posted where people will ask
  • The fix picked by the size of the leak

Your first eight days

Three steps, and the first week costs nothing.

You decide on day seven, after you have been in the room, not before.

01Day one

Start the trial and say hello

A card starts the seven days. Introduce yourself with what your business does and the one thing about money you most want fixed.

02Week one

Sit in a working session

Live or on the replay. Leave with one fix sized for your business and a plan to start it that week.

03Day eight

Stay, or cancel it yourself

The first payment lands on day eight: $97 a month, or $697 for the year. Cancel before then and nothing is charged.

Why this room exists

Just give me one more hour.

I failed so you don't have to.

I was home. I was present. But I wasn't present.Craig Laughlin Jr

My fourteen-year-old stepdaughter asked me to go outside and bump the volleyball. I said, "Just give me one more hour." One hour became three. The sun went down. The volleyball was never touched.

I was building real businesses and could not see what they were costing me. I lost three marriages, five stepdaughters and a business to that grind before I learned to measure what a business keeps instead of what it brings in.

Jessica and I built this firm together as equal partners. I run the advisory work. Jessica, a PMP®, runs delivery: onboarding, project management, the creative and the final check. The room is where we start with every owner.

You built this for your family. Don't let it keep you from them.

This is you

You are in the right room

  • You have customers and revenue, and the profit does not match how hard everybody works.
  • You can change your own prices without asking anybody.
  • You would rather fix what you already have than chase more of it.
  • You want to sell one day. Selling price is profit times a multiple, so this is where that work starts.
This is not you

Somewhere else is better

  • You have not opened yet. Start in The Anti-Franchise.
  • You want a course to watch. This is a room where you do the work.
  • You want somebody to agree with you. We work from real numbers, and sometimes they are unkind.

Our promise to the room

Craig answers in the room inside one business day.

Every question, every member, whether you joined yesterday or two years ago. And you see the room before you pay for it: seven days, live sessions included, and nothing is charged if you cancel before day eight.

The deal, in plain words

  • One price. $97 a month, or $697 for the year. Everything in the room is included.
  • Month to month. No contract. The annual plan runs the year you paid for.
  • Cancel it yourself. Any time, inside Skool, without asking anybody. Or message us and we will do it.
  • No refunds. That is why the first seven days are free.

Questions owners ask

Before you join.

Why does a free trial need a card?

Skool starts every trial that way. Nothing is charged for seven days, the first payment lands on day eight, and you can cancel it yourself before then in two clicks.

I do not have time for another thing.

That is why it is a room and not a program. The working session is one hour a week and it is recorded. Questions get answered inside one business day, whenever you post them. Nothing else is on a schedule.

Do I have to share my numbers with everyone?

Share what you are comfortable with. Percentages work as well as dollars. What you do have to do is be honest with yourself, because every fix starts from what is actually true.

Are there upgrades or tiers inside?

No. One subscription and everything in the room comes with it. If you ever want Craig working your own numbers with you directly, that exists outside the room, and you will hear about it at a workshop, not in your feed.

How is this different from a business coach?

A lot of coaching is an hour of encouragement every two weeks. Here you get a weekly working session, answers between sessions, and a room of owners instead of one person's opinion. The answer to your problem is usually already sitting with somebody in a different line of work.

I am in The Owners Council · Northern Virginia.
